Many of us dread the idea of tasks that often seem to be more difficult than they actually are. Just the thought of having to do something that requires a lot of previous knowledge can be off-putting. However, the task of fitting curtain poles could never be easier with no experience of curtain poles required whatsoever; you can become quite the expert. All you need to do is follow some very simple guidelines and you will have the job done in absolutely no time!
Fitting bay window curtain poles simply requires you to install brackets on both the wall and the pole in order to keep them secure. Firstly, you must start with the central bracket. Measure the window and drill a hole on the wall where the central bracket will be fitted in with a spigot. You then attach the central bracket onto the wall. The other part of the central bracket is then attached onto the pole using screws after holes have been drilled into the necessary parts of the pole. Once this is done the rings must be put onto the pole and the end brackets can then be attached onto the pole and the wall after careful measurement. It is important to make sure the pole is level before you drill the holes for the end brackets. Once you are sure of the placement attach the end brackets.
The holes drilled should be 150mm deep and 10mm in diameter. It is also important to ensure that a ring has been placed just after the end brackets and just before the finial is placed on both ends of the pole. Once everything is positioned correctly with all the rings on the pole, the screws and bolt can then be tightened and will now be ready for curtains!
